MARCELLO

Delfina Marcello born in 1966 in Venice, lived and worked in Venice. After graduating with a degree in art history from the Courtauld Institute or Art, she moved to New York, where she worked on several independent film productions. Delfina Marcello’s production includes a rich production of art installations, videos, performances, photographs, drawings and paintings. Since 1994 she had particularly established herself as a director, in fact there are numerous participations of her in prestigious occasions: at the Rome Film Festival; at the Laura Film Festival but also at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation; at the Cineteca Pasinetti; sl Centro Candiani, at the Tirana Film Festival; at the Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art, Trento; at the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, Bergamo; at Artissima, Turin and Verona where she received an important first prize with the video “Prayer for Violence”. Even abroad she was well received, in fact she participated in The Playboy Foundation film festival, New York; at the Kino film festival, Manchester and being selected with the work “Enjoy” by the British Council for the Arts as one of the best video animations of the year, London. In 2002 an exhibition entitled Love Accessories was inaugurated at the Artericambi Gallery, presenting photographs, videos and creating the “Fur-formance” performance. In 2017, after a long and incurable illness, she passed away.
