They all belong to Generation Z, born between 1995 and 2001, and are therefore under 30 years old, the artists featured in La prima volta, the exhibition curated by Marta Cereda that Casa Testori will open on June 15.
With their research, which uses different means of expression – painting, photography, video, sculpture, performance – in the exhibition itinerary they enter into dialogue not only with the other works, but also and above all with the architecture, the library and the domestic pre-existences of Giovanni Testori’s birth house in Novate Milanese, where for the entire summer, from June 16 to October 26, 2024, they occupy the entire ground floor.
“The first time is a project that wants to demythologize any idea of exceptionality and primacy, in any sphere, that wants to reflect on the value of attempts and failure,” says the curator, Marta Cereda. The first time is an exhibition about time, experienced, remembered, imagined, projected, about research under construction, about the possibility of experimenting, of moving forward, of retracing one’s steps.”
