The Fano Civic Museum’s first contemporary photography collection is born with a selection of seven photographic works. The presentation is set for Friday, June 7, at 6 p.m.
The collection is the outcome of new acquisitions made by the City of Fano, supported by a €75,000.00 grant from the Ministry of Culture, obtained through the Photography Strategy Call for Proposals of the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity – edition 2023.
The Fotografia Centrale collection effectively opens a new museum section with the aim of extending and qualifying the cultural offer and reactivating a debate on contemporary art in Fano. The exhibition is realized by the City of Fano with the scientific direction of Centrale Fotografia (notably by Luca Panaro and Marcello Sparaventi), already a partner of the City of Fano in the ministerial call.
In particular, the work of Fabio Sandri that will become part of the contemporary photography collection is “,” a photographic device designed for the Rocca Malatestiana in Fano. This device invites the audience to produce an image without having control over the framing, thus offering a unique and unexpected experience.
