Mariano Sardón, Variations on the Wind, 2021
C-print on aluminum, 7,8 x 7,8 inches
In the works “Variations of the wind” dozens of images representing people of all ages and ethnicities break up into elementary pixelated units as a reference to the conception of our human identity and our experience in the world, in whose dissemination, dissemination and mixing lies our destiny. The expert artist connoisseur of new technologies, makes use of an algorithm that reproduces the movement of the wind, the image of people then find themselves decomposing, which refers to the process of social transformation we are experiencing. We are in a world in danger of extinction, ephemeral and volatile, where every concept we knew is gradually disappearing. If so far we have lived in a liquid modernity, now we find ourselves in a gaseous reality.
