This year Centrale Fotografia celebrates its first “luster”, that is five years of intense activity in the name of the image analyzed in its many facets.

The intent of the event is in fact to make an x-ray of the current Italian artistic panorama, through meetings with the authors, exhibitions, conferences, round tables, collateral events, moments of reflection on photography and contemporary art, as well as offering the opportunity to discover beautiful places in the city, such as the Malatesta Fortress where the main events of the event will take place this year.

In the previous years the exhibition recalled the Marche Photographic School: Mario Giacomelli, Giuseppe Cavalli and Luigi Crocenzi (2009), later it hosted important artists such as Franco Vaccari and Olivo Barbieri (2010), Mario Cresci and Paola Di Bello (2011), Alessandra Spranzi and Paolo Ventura (2012). This year’s guests of honor are two established international contemporary artists: Andrea Galvani and Paola De Pietri. As a tradition, they are told to the audience in the conference with a retrospective slant, capable of transmitting the meaning and evolution of their production over time. The meetings with the guests of honor are accompanied by projections of images and enriched by the debate with the public, fueling the dialogue and favoring the understanding of a thick and articulated visual research.
